Sandy had spent quite a bit of time
deciding on how to make this tasting work.
We finally decided to pick a Trader Joe’s label wine and do a side-by-side comparison of the
same wine from a “known” label. On the night that we purchased the wines,
the folks at TJs were pretty curious as to what we were up to. When we explained the event they were very
helpful and provided some interesting comments on the wines that were on the
shelves that they had tasted. We
started off with a light white wine to cleanse our pallets and give us time to
socialize before getting into the comparison.
Overall it was very interesting.
Though for most of the wines we tried the TJ label didn’t fare as well as the known label. But then again, most the TJ wines were value
priced at $3.99. It was a very
interesting comparison and most of the members enjoyed another taste comparison
after the wines were brought out of their brown bags.
See the list of wines at the bottom of the page.
