May 16, 2009 Sonoita Vineyards Tour

We wish to thank to Carla Head for setting up the tour this year. Though she wasn’t able to attend we had a great time. Fran Lightly was our guide an host today along with Lynnell who kept our glasses full as we listened to a wonderful presentation on making wine. In five vineyard tours that our group has taken to Southern Arizona, this was the most informative. After the tour, Sonoita Vineyards allowed us to use their upstairs banquet area for our potluck lunch. At today’s tour we had a special guest, AWS Western Region representative Dick Marsden and his wife Susan. They had brought along a special bottle of a New Mexico wine for us to try. Fran also brought up some interesting wines for us to taste on the side. A great event! Great people and excellent wines!
